Don’t Repeat This Same Mistake
For a long time, I was obsessed with one question:
What is the most genuine and stable way to make money online?
So, I did what most beginners do.
I watched hundreds of videos, read countless articles and followed many “gurus.”
Everyone was saying something different.
Blogging.
YouTube.
Freelancing.
Affiliate marketing.
Selling products.
It all sounded promising.
And the best part is, before getting into writing seriously, I tried almost everything.
Trying Everything, Mastering Nothing
I started a YouTube channel.
It failed. It didn’t work out as I expected. Then I tried affiliate marketing. That also didn’t work the way I thought it would. After that, I moved on to something else.
And then something else.
This cycle repeated again and again. I kept jumping from one thing to another, hoping that this time it would finally work.
But it never did.
The Real Problem Was Not the Methods
Let me make this clear.
This does not mean that:
- YouTube doesn’t work
- Blogging doesn’t work
- Affiliate marketing doesn’t work
- Freelancing doesn’t work
All of these methods work.
Thousands of people are earning from them every day.
So what was my mistake?
The mistake was simple:
I never focused on one thing for long enough.
Lack of Focus Was My Biggest Enemy
I was always in a hurry.
If something didn’t give results in a few weeks, I left it. If income didn’t start quickly, I lost motivation. Instead of giving one skill proper time, I kept switching.
I never gave any single path:
- At least 3 months of serious effort
- Consistent learning
- Proper strategy
- Deep practice
I only gave half effort everywhere. And half effort gives half results. Sometimes, no results.
Time Without Direction Is Wasted Time
Another mistake I made was this:
Even when I gave time, I didn’t always give it in the right direction. I worked hard. But many times, I worked on the wrong things. I watched random videos, followed random advice and copied random strategies.
Spending a lot of time in the wrong way doesn’t help.
It only:
- Wastes energy
- Creates frustration
- Kills confidence
- Leads to demotivation
Hard work matters, but smart work matters more.
The Right Way: Pick One Skill and Commit
What I learned from my mistakes is this:
Pick one skill.
Only one.
Something that:
- You are interested in
- You are good at (or can become good at)
- You are willing to do even without money at first
Then decide:
“I will do this for at least a few months without expecting income.”
No shortcuts.
No distractions.
No jumping.
Just focus.
Give it proper time, proper effort; learn and improve daily.
Focus on Value, Not on Results
In the beginning, don’t run behind money.
Run behind value.
Ask yourself:
- Am I helping people?
- Am I solving problems?
- Am I improving my skills?
- Am I creating something useful?
If you focus on value, results will come automatically.
Maybe slowly.
But they will come.
And when they come, they will last.
My Biggest Lesson
This was the main reason why I was not able to make proper money from any single source for a long time.
I tried to do too many things at once.
I wanted fast success.
I wanted quick income.
But I avoided patience.
Now I know:
Success online is not about doing everything. It is about doing one thing extremely well.
Final Words
If you are confused right now…
If you are trying many things and nothing is working…
If you feel stuck…
Please remember this:
Don’t run in all directions. Pick one path, and walk on it daily.
Fall. Learn. Improve. Repeat.
Give your best to one thing.
And slowly, it will start giving back.
Don’t repeat my mistake.
